Just a short distance from Castlewood Ranch, Colorado, the 64,000 square foot Town of Castle Rock Recreation Center is open to all community residents and offers a multitude of recreational options including swimming, basketball, racquetball and wallyball, gymnasium with indoor track, weight and cardiovascular equipment, steam and sauna rooms, fitness programs and a wide variety of classes and special events for all ages.

To the east of Castlewood Ranch in Colorado’s famous Black Forest area, you’ll find the spectacular Castlewood Canyon State Park, where an arid and beautiful setting provides limitless opportunities for hiking, biking, rock climbing, bird watching, picnicking or just plain sightseeing.


Learning Environments…
You and your younger children will appreciate and enjoy having Flagstone Elementary School right in the neighborhood. One of Douglas County’s newer elementary schools, Flagstone’s stated mission is to be “a safe, friendly, child-centered learning community focused on excellence and success for each student.”

In the fall of 2008, the new Mesa Middle School opened just to the north and west of Castlewood Ranch. This 22-acre school site includes a 134,000 square foot two-story building which accommodates 1,000 seventh and eighth graders plus an adjacent baseball field and football field with gravel track.
